One sponsor treated our students to a pizza party. Pizza is a welcome change from typical daily dinner (thukpa).
Some ideas:
Stichting Maya Foundation sponsored a dental clinic. Students were educated on proper health and hygiene and received necessary treatments.
- Sponsor a field trip (visit to local museum, a picnic, sight-seeing tour, rent soccer grounds for a day)
- Birthday funds – We organize monthly birthday celebrations.
- Support a teacher – our teachers work hard and for little money. We always look for ways to show our appreciation.
- Sponsor a student – Many students arrive from poor homes. You can help them transition into new surroundings and encourage their studies.
- Send postcards – Let our students know someone is thinking about them! Share a bit about your life and where you live.
Many students arrive without ever having celebrated their birthday. (Some aren't even sure when they were born.) We try to make everyone feel special with monthly birthday celebrations.
